Sai Leela

💐II 🕉 Sairam II💐 LEELA *Baba comes in the form of a photograph to stay in the Tarkad home.*           In the Shri Sai SatcharitaChapter 9, the story of Ramchandra Tarkad and his son Jyotindra is given. How Jyotindra extracted a promise from his father, to worship Baba’s photograph in the sandalwood shrine daily. Jyotindra, followed a routine rather strictly. He got up every day at 5.am had a bath, and then did puja. He applied sandalwood paste to Baba’s photograph. Then lighted incense, and offered naivedya of sugar candy as prasad. Thus he was reluctant to accompany his mother to Shirdi, as he did not want a break in this routine.           Ramchandra assured him again and again that he would perform puja daily and offernaivedya to Baba, and then have his lunch. Only after Jyotindra was fully convinced of his fathers promise did he accompany his mother. But one day his father forgot, to offer naivedya. There at Shirdi Baba said,  “What to do O! Mother? Today as every day I went

You have done sadhana

OM SAI RAM THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Spiritual striving (sadhana) will reveal the true identity of the Omnipresent Divine Self. But be careful; Sadhana can foster even pride and envy as a byproduct of progress. You calculate how much or how long you have done Sadhana and are tempted to look down on another, whose record is less. You are proud that you have recited or written the name of Lord ten million times; you talk about it whenever you get the chance so that others may admire your faith and fortitude. But it is not the millions that count; what matters is the purity of mind that results from genuine concentration on the Name. Your Sadhana must not be like carrying water in a cane basket! You get no water however often or long you walk. Each vice is a hole in the cane basket. Keep the heart pure and whole. You must also carefully cleanse from your heart malice, greed, hate and anger. Life must be spent in accumulating and safeguarding

OM SAI RAM THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Life must be spent in accumulating and safeguarding virtue, not riches. Listen and ruminate over the stories of the great moral heroes of the past, so that their ideals may be imprinted on your hearts. Nowadays, virtue is becoming rare in the individual, family, society and community, as well as in all fields, be it economic, political and even 'spiritual’. So also, there is a decline in discipline, which is the soil on which virtue grows. Respect one and all. Unless each one is respected, whatever be their status, economic condition, or spiritual development, there can be no peace and happiness in life. This respect can be aroused only by the conviction that the same atma (Self) that is in you is playing the role of the other person. See that atma in others, feel that they too have hunger, thirst, yearning and desires as you have; develop sympathy and the anxiety to serve and be useful. (Divine Discourse, Feb 22, 1968) - BABA

Baba's leela started unfolding. The dead person was moving and broke the strings.

Baba's Leela... Sadguru Sainath Maharaj Ki Jai Once devotees had invited Dasganu  for kirtan. As Soon as he started kirtan a huge crowd gathered to hear. An hour later abt 8 to 10 bhils walked in. They were carrying a bier and were going to the cemetery. The leader demanded to stop all this noise and asked to pointing Baba's photo "who is this?". Dasganu gave glorious account of the shirdi sai Baba. "My Baba is the living God of Gods". You have to only witness his power, compassion and love only then will you believe. The leader then challenged Dasganu saying Our relative has just died.If your  Baba is so great he will bring him back to life. At that time Jyotindra Tarkand was also there with Dasganu. Without hesitation Jyotindra Tarkand said,"Maharaj let us seek refuge in Baba." You just sing "Sai reham nazar karna baccho ka palan karna". This is the arati written by Dasganu ji and sung during Kakad Arati. About hour later Baba'

Man walks with two legs: iha and para (this world and the other),

OM SAI RAM THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Man walks with two legs: iha and para (this world and the other), dharma and Brahman, righteousness and God! If one is totally engrossed in this world, the person is choosing to travel all through one’s life with a handicap, hopping on one leg. That is fraught with trouble; the person may fall any moment and break the shin. And one does! Goodness in this world and Godliness for the life after death - equal attention needs to be given to both. One must be vigilant while taking a step, whichever foot it may be. Both are essential for a happy journey through life. You have to put the right foot, the Brahman step, when you enter the region of realisation. By then the senses have to be conquered. Go means senses and Go-pi means a person who has subdued the senses, as a result of surrender to Go-pala, the master of the senses. Krishna once told Arjuna that he can enter Vrajamandala (the region where the Gopis lived), only after mastering his emotions an

Some people, afraid of cynical criticism by unbelievers

OM SAI RAM THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Some people, afraid of cynical criticism by unbelievers , are reluctant to walk the streets in groups singing the glory of God during early morning hours! When you have the very Embodiment of Fearlessness installed in your heart, why should the slightest tremor of fear affect you? You came into this world alone, with no companion, isn't it? During the years of life, you gathered wife and children, kith and kin, and friends and acquaintances who attached themselves to you. When you return to the realm from which you came, you enter it alone with no one to keep company. So too let the journey with Nagarasankirtan be. Come into the street alone, collect kith and kin if they come unto you, move with them unconcerned and unaffected, revel in your own sweet solitariness, and finally enter your home with the satisfaction that your job is well done. Fellows may laugh at you as insane but this insanity is infectious and very soon, even the irreverent will be

There is only one royal road for the spiritual journey - Love, love for all beings

OM SAI RAM THOUGHT FOR THE DAY There is only one royal road for the spiritual journey - Love, love for all beings as manifestation of the same Divinity that is the very core of oneself. This faith alone ensures the constant presence of God with you, and endows you with all the joy and courage you need to fulfill your life’s pilgrimage to God. When the reservoir is full of water and you turn on the taps, then the buckets will be filled. Cultivate love and devotion, then your activities will be saturated with compassion and charity, and yield the golden harvest of joy and peace. Love must be unselfish and universal. You judge for yourself whether your love is narrow or broad, and whether your devotion is shallow or deep. Are you content with your achievement? Examine it yourself and pronounce the verdict on yourself, using your own discrimination. [Divine Discourse, Jan 13, 1970] - BABA

Despite the many Navaratris and Shivaratris (auspicious festivals) you attend at holy places, unless

OM SAI RAM THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Despite the many Navaratris and Shivaratris (auspicious festivals) you attend at holy places, unless you illumine your heart and make it shine clear and pure, it will be shrouded in darkness, immersed in ratri (night) only. You may say that progress is possible only through My Grace, but though My heart is soft as butter, it melts only when there is some warmth in your prayer. Unless you make some disciplined effort and do some sadhana (spiritual activities), grace cannot descend on you. The yearning and the agony of unfulfilled aim melts My heart. That anguish (aavedana) wins grace. Sadhana must make you calm, unruffled, poised, and balanced. Your mind must be cool and comforting as moonlight, for Moon is the deity holding sway over mind. Be calm in speech, and in your responses to malice, cavilling and praise. [Divine Discourse, 13 Jan, 1969]   - BABA

Learn lesson from tree 🌲

OM SAI RAM THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Learn a lesson from the tree. When it is heavy with fruits it does not raise its head aloft in pride, it bends low, stoops, as if it does not take any credit for its accomplishment and as if it is helping you to pluck the fruit. Similarly, learn a lesson from the birds. They feed those who cannot fly far. The bird relieves the itch of the buffalo by scratching it with its beak; they help and serve each other, with no thought of reward. How much more alert must you be, than the birds and trees with your superior skills and faculties? Remember, service is the best cure for egoism, and so you must engage in it to relieve pain and grief to the extent you can. Try to assuage, as far as you can, the distress of others; when done sincerely, it is the best spiritual practice for a true spiritual aspirant. [Divine Discourse, Jan 13, 1968] - BABA
