Shirdi Sai Baba Statue in Samadhi Mandir In 1952, a piece of a White Italian Marble had arrived from Italy at the Bombay Docks but for whom or why, nobody seemed to know Thus, in the absence of a claimant, the dockyard authorities auctioned it off and the purchaser later offered it to the Shirdi Sai Sansthan.  Impressed by the quality of the Italian Marble, the Shirdi Sansthan planned to use it for an Idol of Sai Baba. So they gave Shri.Balaji Vasantrao Talim - a sculptor from Bombay, the humongous task of sculpting Baba's Idol. Meticulously, Shri.Balaji Talim got his tools 'made to order' from iron-smiths and carpenters started off by first making a Model of Baba using Mud Clay. But it was difficult for Shri.Balaji Talim to make the statue in its exact likeness without the intricate details of the physical characteristic's of Baba's face, to profile which he only had Baba's one black & white photograph. హయగ్రీవుడు చదువులకు అధిదైవం. అందరం ప్రతినిత్యం చదువుకునే ఈ లలితా సహస్రనామాలు కూడా హయగ్రీవుని ద్వారానే వచ్చాయి. జ్ఞానం, విద్య, సద్య స్ఫురణ, సృజనాత్మకత కావాలనుకునే వారు హయగ్రీవుని ఆరాధించాలి. అవి కావాలని అందరూ కోరుకుంటారు కనుక అందరూ హయగ్రీవుని ఉపాసన చేయడం మంచిది. శ్రవణానక్షత్రం ఏ పూర్ణిమనాడుంటే ఆ మాసాన్ని శ్రావణమాసం అంటారు. శ్రవణం శ్రీహరి జన్మ నక్షత్రం. పూర్ణిమ లక్ష్మీదేవి పుట్టినతిథి. ఆ రెండు కలిసిన శ్రావణపూర్ణిమకు ఎన్నో ప్రత్యేకతలు ఉన్నాయి. శ్రావణ మాస శుక్లపక్ష పూర్ణిమయే ‘హయగ్రీవ జయంతి’. హయగ్రీవుడనగానే సకల విద్యాధి దేవతయైన శ్రీమన్నారాయణుడు ‘హయగ్రీవుని’గా అవతరించి, గుఱ్ఱపు మోముగల ఒక వేదాపహారియైన రాక్షసుని సంహరించి వేదాలను ఉద్ధరించినవాడని మనకు తెలుస్తుంది. శ్రీ మహావిష్ణువు యొక్క అవతారాలలో పది అవతారాలు మాత్రం దశావతారాలుగా ప్రసిద్ధికెక్కినప్పటికీ, మహాభాగవతంలో ఇరవైకి పైగా అవతారాలు పేర్కొనబడి ఉన్నాయి. ఆ అవతారాలలో ‘హయగ్రీవావతారం’ విశిష్టమైనది. ‘హయం’ అనగా గుఱ్ఱం, ‘గ్రీవం’ అనగా కంఠం. అశ్వ ముఖంతో మానవ శరీరంతో వామాంకమున శ్రీ లక్ష్మీదేవితో తెల్లని శరీర ఛాయతో, చతుర్భుజాలతో, శంఖ, చక్ర చ

బ్రహ్మ దేవుడు ఒక సారి వేదాలు మర్చి పోతే శ్రీ మహా విష్ణువు మళ్ళీ వేదాలు బ్రహ్మ కు చెప్పాల్సి వచ్చింది. ఎదో ఒక విచిత్రమైన ఆకారం ఉంటె తప్ప బ్రహ్మ దేవుడికి అర్ధం కాదని శ్రీ మహా విష్ణువు హయగ్రీవ రూపంలో శ్రావణ పౌర్ణమి నాడు ఆవిర్భవించి వేదాలను బ్రహ్మ దేవునికి ఉపదేశించినట్లు ఒక పురాణ కధనం. హయగ్రీవుడు అంటే గుర్రం తల ఉన్న వ్యక్తి అని అర్ధం. ఒక సారి గుర్రం తల ఉన్న రాక్షసుడిని వధించడానికి అదే రూపంలో శ్రీ మహా విష్ణువు ఆవిర్భవించి నట్లు మరొక కధనం. ఇవి కాక మరి కొన్ని కధలు ప్రచారం లో ఉన్నాయి. ఇటువంటి కధలు అప్పట్లో అంతరీక్షంలో జరిగిన కొన్ని మార్పులకు సంబంధించినవిగా భావించ వచ్చు. మొత్తం మీద హయగ్రీవుడు జ్ఞాన ప్రదాత గా విద్యాభివృద్ధి కి కారకుడుగా చెప్పబడింది.
