 : బిహార్ రాష్ట్రంలో ఫల్గుణీ నదీ తీరంలో *“శిరోగయ”* గా వెలసింది. దీనినే బుద్ధగయ అని కూడా అంటారు.

 జాజాపూర్, ఒరిస్సా రాష్ట్రంలో వైతరణి నదీ తీరంలో వున్న ప్రదేశంను *“నాభిగయ”* అని అంటారు.

 పిఠాపురం, ఆంధ్ర ప్రదేశ్‌లో గయని పాదాలుండటం వలన అవి వున్న ప్రదేశం పిఠాపురాన్ని *“పాదగయ”* అంటారు.

గుజరాత్ రాష్ట్రంలో మహేషన జిల్లాలో సరస్వతీ నదీ తీరంలో గల ప్రాంతాన్ని *“మాతృగయ”* అని అంటారు. బిందు సరోవరమనే మరో పేరు కూడా కలదు. అహమ్మదాబాదుకు 32 కి||మి|| దూరంలో గల మాతృగయలో మాతృవంశం వారికి పిండప్రదానం మరింత ముఖ్యం. ఒరిస్సాలోని భువనేశ్వర్‌కి 33 కి||మి|| దూరంలో వున్న బిందు సరోవరం వద్ద కూడా పిండ ప్రదానాలు చేస్తారు.

*పంచభూత లింగాలలో శ్రీ కాళ హస్తి క్షేత్రం ఒకటి ఇక్కడ అ పరమేశ్వరుడు వాయు లింగేశ్వర గా పార్వతి దేవి జ్ఞానాంబికగా పూజలందుకుంటున్నారు.*

*నది ఏర్పడింది కానీ అందులో నీళ్లు లేవు ఎక్కడ తప్పు జరిగిందా అని ఆలోచించగా సకల శుభాలకు మూలం గణపతి ఆరాధన చేయకుండానే తపస్సుకు పూనుకున్న విషయం గుర్తొస్తుంది.*

*ఆ తప్పును సవరించుకోడానికి గజాననుని అనుగ్రహం కోసం మళ్లీతపస్సు మొదలుపెడతారు.*

*అతని కోరిక మేరకు స్వర్ణ ముఖి లో జలధార కురిపిస్తాడు. తనకు దర్శనం ఇచ్చిన చోటే కొలువు తీరమని గణపతిని కోరటంతో అక్కడే స్వామి పాతాళ గణపతిగా వెలిసి భక్తులను అనుగ్రహిస్తున్నాడు*

*రాతి గుహలో వినాయకుని దర్శించుకోవాలంటే భక్తులు ఒంపులు తిరిగి ఉండే 30 మెట్లను జాగ్రత్తగా దిగి లోపలికి చేరుకోవాలి ఒకప్పుడు స్వర్ణ నది నీటిమట్టం ఎంత పెరిగితే స్వామి వారి దగ్గర అంత ఎత్తులో నీళ్లు ఉరేవట..!*
