శ్రీరామచంద్రుడు సీతా, లక్ష్మణ సమేతంగా వెలసిన క్షేత్రమే కడప జిల్లాలోని ఒంటిమిట్ట శ్రీకోదండరామాలయం.త్రేతాయుగంలో సాక్షాత్తు ఆ పురుషోత్తముడే ఇక్కడ నడిచినట్టు పురాణాలు పేర్కొంటున్నాయి. కలియుగంలో స్వామివారు శ్రీకోదండరామస్వామిగా తన భక్తులకు అభయమిస్తున్నారు. శ్రీరామునికి అనుంగు భక్తుడైన ఆంజనేయస్వామి విగ్రహం ఇక్కడ లేకపోవడం విశేషం. దీన్ని బట్టి చూస్తే ఆంజనేయుని రాకకు ముందే ఈ క్షేత్రంలో స్వామివారు విహరించినట్టు తెలుస్తోంది.
జాంబవత స్థాపితం
వానరులలో బ్రహ్మజ్ఞాని జాంబవంతుడు. ఆయన ఎన్నో యుగాలను చూశారు. అనుభవశీలి, మేధావి, శ్రీరామచంద్రుని దర్శనం చేసుకున్న అనంతరం సీతారామ, లక్షణ విగ్రహాలను ప్రతిష్టించారు. కొద్దికాలానికి సంజీవరాయ మందిరంలో ఆంజనేయవిగ్రహాన్ని నెలకొల్పారు. కలియుగంలో ఈ ఆలయాన్ని 16వ శతాబ్దంలో ఒంటెడు, మిట్టడు అనే సోదరులు ఈ దేవాలయాన్ని నిర్మించినట్టు తెలుస్తోంది. వారిపేరుతోనే ఒంటిమిట్టగా ఈ గ్రామం ఖ్యాతిచెందింది. వీరి విగ్రహాలను కూడా ఆలయప్రాంగణంలో చూడవచ్చు.
అద్భుతమైన ఆలయనిర్మాణం
ఆలయ నిర్మాణం విజయనగరవాస్తుశైలిలో అద్భుతంగా నిర్మితమైవుంటుంది. మూడు గోపురాలు సుందరంగా వుంటాయి. ఆలయం లోపల స్తంభాలు, గోడలపై సజీవమైన చిత్రకళను వీక్షించవచ్చు. విఘ్నేశ్వరుడు నాట్యభంగిమలో వుండి భక్తులకు ఆశీర్వచనం ఇస్తుంటాడు. 17వ శతాబ్దంలో ఈ ప్రాంతంలో పర్యటించిన ఫ్రెంచ్‌ యాత్రీకుడు టావెర్నియర్‌ ఆలయ గోపురం దేశంలోని పొడవైన గోపురాల్లో ఒకటని పేర్కొన్నారు. ఆలయాన్ని అన్నమయ్య సందర్శించి అనేక సంకీర్తనలు రచించారు. ఆంధ్ర మహాభాగవతాన్ని రచించిన పోతనామాత్యులు ఆ గ్రంథాన్ని ఇక్కడే స్వామివారికి అంకితమిచ్చారు. అష్టదిగ్గజ కవుల్లో ఒకరైన రామభద్రకవి ఈ ప్రాంతానికి చెందినవాడేనని తెలుస్తోంది. ఆంధ్రవాల్మీకిగా ఖ్యాతిచెందిన వావిలికొలను సుబ్బారావు ఒంటిమిట్ట నివాసి కావడం విశేషం.
పున్నమి వెలుగుల్లో పురుషోత్తముని కల్యాణం
చంద్రుని వెలుగుల్లో స్వామివారి బ్రహ్మోత్సవాలను ఇక్కడ నిర్వహించడం ఈ ఆలయ ప్రత్యేకత. దీని వెనుక ఒక పురాణగాథవుంది. క్షీరసాగర మథనం తరువాత మహాలక్ష్మీదేవి అమ్మవారిని నారాయణుడు తన సతీమణిగా స్వీకరించాడు. పగలు జరిగే స్వామివారి వివాహాన్ని తాను చూడలేకపోతున్నానని ఆమె సోదరుడు చంద్రుడు స్వామివారికి విన్నవించగా ఒంటిమిట్టలో వెన్నెల వెలుగుల్లో తన కల్యాణాన్ని వీక్షించవచ్చని వరమిచ్చాడు. దాని ప్రకారమే రాత్రిళ్లు ఇక్కడ స్వామివారి బ్రహ్మోత్సవాలను నిర్వహిస్తారు.
రాష్ట్ర ఉత్సవంగా బ్రహ్మోత్సవాలు
రాష్ట్ర విభజన అనంతరం కడప జిల్లాలోని ఒంటిమిట్ట శ్రీకోదండరామస్వామి ఆలయంలో శ్రీరామనవమి ఉత్సవాలను అధికారికంగా నిర్వహిస్తున్నారు. ఆలయ నిర్వహణ బాధ్యతలను కూడా తిరుమల తిరుపతి దేవస్థానం వారికి అప్పగించారు.
ఎలా చేరుకోవచ్చు
* కడప-తిరుపతి రహదారిపై వుంది. కడపనుంచి 26 కి.మీ.దూరం ప్రయాణిస్తే ఆలయానికి చేరుకోవచ్చు.
* రైలులో రాజంపేట రైల్వేస్టేషన్‌లో దిగి బస్సులో దిగి చేరుకునే సౌలభ్యముంది.
* కడప రైల్వేస్టేషన్‌లో కూడా రైలు దిగి బస్సు లేదా ఇతర వాహనాల్లో చేరుకునే సౌలభ్యముంది.
* తిరుపతి విమానాశ్రయం 100 కి.మీ.దూరంలోవుంది.

From the car parking area at the exit gate of the Temple, a battery car is available to drop you at the counter of entry and vice -versa.
At the time of Darshan all other queues are stopped only Sr.Citizen Darshan is allowed without any push or pressure.
You can just come out of Darshan within 30 minutes after darshan of the Lord.

3) Chidambaram temple is based on the Human Body having 9 Entrances denoting 9 Entrances or Openings of the body.
4) Temple roof is made of 21600 gold sheets which denotes the 21600 breaths taken by a human being every day (15 x 60 x 24 = 21600)
5) These 21600 gold sheets are fixed on the Gopuram using 72000 gold nails which denote the total no. of Nadis (Nerves) in the human body. These transfer energy to certain body parts that are invisible.
6) Thirumoolar states that man represents the shape of Shivalingam, which represents Chidambaram which represents Sadashivam which represents HIS dance !
7) "Ponnambalam " is placed slightly tilted towards the left. This represents our Heart. To reach this, we need to climb 5 steps called "Panchatshara padi "
"Si, Va, Ya, Na, Ma " are the 5 Panchatshara mantras.
There are 4 pillars holding the Kanagasabha representing the 4 Vedas.
8) Ponnambalam has 28 pillars denoting the 28 "Ahamas "as well as the 28 methods to worship Lord Shiva. These 28 pillars support 64 +64 Roof Beams which denote the 64 Arts. The cross beams represent the Blood Vessels running across the Human body.
9) 9 Kalasas on the Golden Roof represent the 9 types of Sakthi or Energies.
The 6 pillars at the Artha Mantapa represent the 6 types of Sashtras.
The 18 pillars in the adjacant Mantapa represents 18 Puranams.
10) The dance of Lord Nataraja is described as Cosmic Dance by Western Scientists.
Whatever Science is propounding now has been stated by Hinduism thousands of years ago !

अमृत वाणी
जब तक व्यक्ति मौन रहता है तब तक उसके गुण अवगुण छिपे रहते हैं. परंतु उसकी वाणी भाषा और शारीरिक भाषा से उसके पूरे व्यक्तित्व का पता लगने लगता है.
नकारात्मक विचार, तर्क वितर्क की आदत व्यक्ति की बुद्धि को स्थिर नही रहने देती है. इसलिये वह विकसित समाज का अंग नही बन पाता है.
बुद्धि की अस्थिरता और भ्रमित बुद्धि के कारण मानव का सांसारिक और आध्यात्मिक चिंतन उसके ज्ञान तक सीमित हो जाता है. इसलिये न तो उसको सांसारिक लोग प्रभावित कर पाते हैं और न ही आध्यात्मिक चिंतन की ओर उसका जीवन आकर्षित हो पाता है.
यहीं से कट्टर पंथ की उत्पत्ति होती है. जब विचार की सीमा सीमित हो जाती है तब सामप्रदयिक नीति का प्रभाव बढ़ने लगता है. उस साम्प्रदायिक नीति का प्रभाव ही स्वाभिमानी को अभिमानी बना देता है.
जहाँ पर अभिमान है वहाँ पर करुणा दया उदारता सम्बेदनशीलता जैसे भाव का आभाव होने लगता है. ऐसी स्थिति मे केवल स्वार्थपरता ही विकसित हो पाती है.
स्वार्थ का आवरण परमार्थ को विकसित नही होने देता है. ऐसी स्थिति मे उस समाज का विकास उस स्तर का नही हो पाता है जहाँ पर साधु संत प्रवृत्ति विकसित होती है.
जहाँ पर संत हैं वहाँ पर विवेक है.जहाँ पर विवेक का महत्व है वहाँ पर परमार्थ है और परमार्थ ही संत जीवन है. तन मन की इच्छाओं का दमन करने के बाद ही संत भाव उत्पन्न होता है.
मानव योनि प्राप्त करने से पूर्व जीवात्मा विचार शक्ति के आभाव मे पशुता भरा अर्थात पेट पालने और संतान उत्पन्न करने का जीवन जीया है.
मानव योनि प्राप्त करने के बाद भी यदि विचार शक्ति सम्पन्न मानव जीवन को संत प्रवृत्ति मे परिवर्तित नही कर सकता तो निश्चय ही उसे जन्म मृत्यु के क्रम से मुक्ति नही होगी.
इसीलिये सद्गुरु श्री साईं नाथ के कहा है "जैसा भाव रहा जिस जन का, वैसा भाव रहा मेरे मन का ".
श्री साईं बाबा की शरण प्राप्ति के लिये मन मे संत प्रवृत्ति का विकास हो सके उसके लिये आओ साईं सिद्धि मंत्र का निरंतर जाप करें.
